1 pound green beans, cut lengthwise into halves 
2 tablespoons whipping cream or half-and-half 
1/4 teaspoon salt 
1 tablespoon margarine or butter 
Dash of pepper 
 
Heat beans and 1 inch salted water (1/2 teaspoon salt to 1 cup water) to boiling. Cook uncovered 5 minutes. Cover and cook until tender. 10 to 15 minutes; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. 
4 servings.
