CARAMEL-GLAZED APPLE BARS

2-3/4 cups Bisquick baking mix
2-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1-3/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup margarine or butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped apples (about 3 small)
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 350 DEGREES
GREASE jelly roll pan, 15-1/2x10-1/2x 1
Mix baking mix, oats, 1-3/4 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup margarine until crumbly. Press in pan. Bake 15 min.
MIX 1 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup margarine in 2-qt. saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened; stir in vanilla. Stir in apples; spread over crust. Sprinkle with walnuts.
BAKE 20 min. Cool; cut into bars, about 2x1 - 75 bars.
High Altitude Directions (3500 to 6500 fl.): Heat oven to 375 DEGREES Grease 2 square pans, 9x9x2" Decrease the 1-3/4 cups brown sugar to 1-1/2 cups. Increase first bake time to 18 min.
