CHEESY MEAT LOAF

1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1- 8-ounce can (1 cup) tomato sauce 2 beaten eggs
1 cup diced American cheese (4 ounces)
1 cup soft bread crumbs (1-1/4 slices bread)
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
In saucepan cook onion and green pepper in boiling water till tender; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, eggs, cheese, bread crumbs, thyme, 1 teaspoon salt, and dash pepper. Add ground beef and ground pork, mixing well. Shape into loaf in baking dish. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 1-1/2 hours. If desired, trim plate with pickled peppers. Serves 8 to 10.
