SCALLOPS

1/2 lb scallops
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 clove garlic crushed
1/2 can water
chestnuts - sliced
1/8 tsp ginger
10 slices bacon

cut scallops in half. mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic in bowl. Stir in scallops and water chestnuts. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours - drain.
Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap scallops and a slice of chestnuts in a bacon piece and secure with a toothpick.
Arrange on rack in broiler pan and cook in 400 degree oven, turning once until bacon is crisp - 25 - 30 minutes OR bake with bacon side down for 20 minutes at 375 degrees or until bacon is crisp.
