BUTTERY BREAD PUDDING

melt 2 tbsp butter and combine with 3 slightly beaten eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 quart of milk. Mix and pour over 3-1/2 cup bread cut in cubes. Bake in moderate oven. Serve piping hot.
